What is a dedicated circuit and when do I need one?

A dedicated circuit runs directly from the consumer unit to a single appliance or outlet, not shared with other loads. They're required for high-demand appliances including electric cookers (45A), electric showers (40A+), EV chargers (32A), hot tubs (32A+), and tumble dryers. Dedicated circuits prevent overloading and tripping and are required by BS 7671 for these appliances.
