Faults

How do I reset a tripped circuit breaker?

First, identify the tripped breaker — it will be in the middle or off position in your consumer unit. Unplug appliances on that circuit, then reset the breaker by firmly switching it to the off position first, then back to on. If it trips again immediately, there is a fault on the circuit or an appliance and you should call a qualified electrician rather than continuing to reset it.
